Review: Rocks Off Bamboo Vibrator

RO Bamboo_Crave Flex Duet_wm

Bamboo as it compares to Crave Flex Duet

If there is one thing I need vibrator companies to all get together on, it’s the way steady settings should increase from low to high. It makes no sense to me, and I have no idea why anyone would design them to go from high to low. That seems to be my biggest issue with the Rocks Off Bamboo. In all honesty, buzzy…rumbly…Whatever. These end up being preferences depending on the toy and the person and the mood they’re in. But I feel fairly confident that we all want our vibes to ramp up gradually.

I really appreciate the opportunity to review toys that are on the lower end of the price range. In general, I do think we get what we pay for, but by the same token, we don’t always have to shell out hundreds of dollars all the time. With that being said, I’m not a big fan of battery powered vibrators. In the long term, it’s not super eco-friendly to have to constantly buy new batteries. You also run the risk of shelling out a lot of money later (buying new batteries) rather than paying more upfront for a rechargeable toy.

RO Bamboo_wmBe that as it may. The Rocks Off Bamboo is pretty simple as bullet/lipstick vibes go. It’s got 10 settings accessed from one button. It is textureless, smooth, with a somewhat pinpointed tip, with a broader, slanted side as well.

Bamboo is definitely buzzy rather than rumbly, but it is surprisingly strong. Still, because the vibrations are mostly on the surface, I find myself (as a fan of the rumblier vibes) having to exert quite a bit of pressure when I used it on my clit. Alternating between the narrow part tip and the broader, flat, slanted part gave slightly different sensations. I was able to have several orgasms while testing Bamboo unlike other smaller vibes I’ve tested out before even though it is buzzy. One of my favorite ways to use Bamboo was during the height of laziness – just tucking it into my undies while I watched porn. It was effective, to be sure.

But if I’m being completely truthful, Bamboo probably won’t replace any of the smaller, clit vibes I use on the regular like the We-Vibe Touch (if I can ever figure out where I misplaced it!) and the Crave Flex Duet

Specs and Cleaning the Rocks Off Bamboo

Bamboo is about 4″ in length, just over ½” across, and approximately 2.5″ around. It comes in several colors: Rose Gold (like mine), Purple, Pink, and Mauve.

The Rocks Off Bamboo takes one AAA battery and is made of ABS plastic. I stuck with using two of my fave lubes with it – Sliquid Sassy and Silk. Bamboo is also waterproof, so it’s fine to use water and soap to wash it off. You can also use a toy cleaner spray.

Overall I think the Rocks Off Bamboo is a great vibe for being under $25. I would definitely recommend it if you’re just starting to explore vibrations, and you’re just not sure what you need or what you will like. Remember that you can be creative with vibes like this; they’re great for teasing nipples, penises, and perineum. (Do not insert into the anus because it has no base – without a base, without a trace.)

Huge thanks to the folks at Rocks-Off for sending me Bamboo to try out!
