A Different Perspective
Getting a view of my body from a different angle than usual can be difficult, not just physically challenging to take a photo, but also emotionally. Since I don’t often see that side of myself, I might recoil and have a knee-jerk grossed out feeling, or otherwise feel embarrassed. It’s even more important to see those perspectives more often to be able to familiarize myself with my actual body, to hold some self-compassion and gentleness with myself when those less seen sides are captured.
