Review: BS is Nice Ella Blue G-Spot Silicone Dildo

The Ella Blue is Discontinued! But there are some other BS is Nice options to explore.

A couple of years ago, I reviewed the BS Pride Rainbow 2013. It was one of my first reviews, actually. I was so grateful that SheVibe had a new iteration of a BS g-spotting dildo available for reviewing. 

I adore the designs that BS is Nice has come up with: Splatter art. Race cars. Stripes. Holstein cows. There are lots of choices. Even better, they create multiple sizes for their toys. I love options!

Ella is very similar to the 2013 Pride Rainbow. It is also a “medium.” (One of these days I hope to try the large!) The shape is practically identical, with perhaps some slight differences that are incredibly difficult to pinpoint. These differences could be from an upgrade of the shape, the mold, or simply because of the variations that happen with artisan toys. Keep in mind that BS Atelier toys are handmade, so there will be some variations in color, stripe placement, and so forth.

I managed to do a somewhat “blind” comparison test where I tried the Pride Rainbow after using Ella, and they are very similar. But for some reason, Ella seems to glide more smoothly while thrusting in and out. 

I used water based lube and the Mona 2(which is my latest go-to vibe; I appreciate the additional length) and was surprised at how amazing the orgasms were. Before using Ella, I was a little bit worried I wouldn’t like the fact that it is a softer, more pliable silicone that is sans texture. It’s been a while since I’ve used something in this category – tending to favor my Pure Wand for insertion lately. 

I decided to first use Ella without any warm up at all. Lube ‘n go. It’s not too large, and it’s smooth, so it’s not shocking or overwhelming at all. I love the way it glides past my g-spot and hooks lightly, but effectively just beyond it. The girth has a little bit of a gradual increase in width closer to the base. The silicone is quite pliable. Not so squishy as an O2 or dual density toy, but it’s definitely not all that firm. Your mileage may vary on that, too. Some people really prefer a firmer toy for insertion. 

One other little thing I appreciate on Ella is that the BS logo is embossed on the side of the base. I like being able to have a frame of reference for orienting a toy while I’m using it without having to stop and pull it out to be sure it’s going in the direction I want it to go.

I didn’t really expect any squirting miracles with Ella even though it’s a “g-spotting toy.” Plus, because I’m not a person who is squirts easily (I have to really work at it), I rarely have the time or the patience to really go for it. With all that in mind, I did gush a teensy bit one of the times I used Ella. I was pleasantly surprised at that. All in all, I would categorize Ella as a g-spot warm up toy if I wanted to really get into squirting.

Specs and Caring for Ella

Ella’s total length is 6.5 inches. Insertable length 6″. Its width (diameter) is 1.50″ at tip, 1.92″ just above base. Ella is made of 100% high-quality silicone. Its flared base makes it harness compatible and safe for anal play. Clean up is easy; I just wash Ella with warm water and soap, but for more intense cleaning you can use a 10% bleach solution (spray it on, let it sit a minute or so and wash it off), you can throw it in the top rack of the dishwasher, and you can boil it. 

Ella is a bit of lint magnet which is a bit annoying, but easily remedied by giving it a rinse before use. You can also wipe it down with a baby wipe. Ella comes in a mostly clear (aside for text) plastic zip baggie. So, it’s by no means discreet, but it’s useful. 

Final thoughts

At $74.99 I think Ella is a good option whether you’re just starting out with curved or g-spot (or p-spot!) specific toys.
