There are lots of good things about the Laid D.1 silicone dildo.

And some things that would make it even better.

Let’s just dive right in.

It seems to me that “plain” dildos aren’t as common as ones with a base which can be used in strap on harnesses. I have no idea whether that’s just me and the toys I’ve reviewed over the past couple years. I honestly don’t know. In theory, I love the idea of a base-less dildo. In the case of D.1, you have the option of using either end – especially because it’s just a dildo. No vibrations. No motor. Nada. I love that!

D.1 is smooth, neither too slim nor too girthy. What makes this toy stand out is the asymmetrical design. The ends aren’t the same shape, the insertable end (they’re both insertable, but I mean the end without the logo stamp) is bulbous, but not all the same thickness, fullness, or angle. It’s a little hard to describe, and challenging to photograph. The wider part leans to the right in the tip (if the toy is oriented with the logo at the bottom).

Laid D.1_1_wmThe silicone is a gorgeous, delicious velvety matte which creates a lovely dragging sensation. It does need plenty of lube. Water based lube or hybrid lube are the way to go. I found myself needing to reapply for longer sessions with the D.1. The logo cut-outs were imperceptible in use.

I wish Laid D.1 was a bit longer. Here’s the thing, you don’t realize you miss the base of other dildos until you’re using one that doesn’t have one and the lube makes everything slippery and hard to hold on to so you can’t quite propel the toy correctly, and to top it off it’s a little too short because angle, body, belly, etc. (Sorry for the run on sentence.)

FebPhotoFest2016 Day1When combined with a vibe on my clit, Laid D.1 sent me to the moon. It hooks nicely beyond my pelvic bone to tug on my G-Spot. Twisting it a little bit while thrusting felt amazing. (Actually, they suggest it in their little instruction booklet, though the translation to English could have been a bit more clear.) The twisting motion provided a rhythmic pressure unlike any other penetrative toy I’ve experienced before. It’s the asymmetrical shape. Round, symmetrical toys just can’t quite do what D.1 did.

The pointier, logo end of D.1 felt kinda “meh” to me. The point just didn’t feel right for me and my body internally. It’s also asymmetrical, so you can still do the twisty motion with that end, too. For some, it may be good to start off with that narrower end and then move up to the thicker end.

Specs

Laid D.1_2_wmD.1 also has a stone version. Which sounds amazing. D.2 is a slightly differently shaped design which also looks like a lot of fun. The silicone D.1 is just about 8 inches in total length, and just under 4.75 inches in circumference (about 1.75″ in diameter) at the widest part. The logo end is just under 4.5″ in circumference.

Obviously, since there isn’t a base on this toy, it is not recommended for butt play.

It comes in a foam cut out box which is great for storage. Cleaning the silicone D.1 is a breeze. Warm soap and water will do – just be sure to pay attention to the lettering. You can also boil it, use a 10% bleach-water solution, or throw it into the top rack of the dishwasher. The silicone D.1 comes in blue (like mine), black currant (a slate color), and pink.

Currently, the Laid D.1 Silicone Dildo is $59 at Peepshow Toys. (And you can save 10% with my code below.) I think it’s definitely a great investment, particularly if you’re interested in g-spot exploration.
