Review: Tantus Rocket

The Tantus Rocket dildo is part of the Space Toys line which, as of this posting, are limited edition (read: lower priced) toys. I got to review the Meteorite plug last year, as a matter of fact. When I received my recent Tantus bundle, I wasn’t super enthused about Rocket. It’s neither girthy, nor long, and it does not have any texture. It just seemed kind of meh.Tantus Meteorite Plug and Rocket Dildo

Well, looks can be deceiving.

The head on Rocket is just flared enough that it can pack a delicious punch. Nothing overwhelming, but it reminds you that it is there and wants to be counted. I was surprised at how much I actually enjoyed this toy. Rocket was a little challenging to get in at first (from a “cold” [not aroused] start). I found Rocket to be pleasantly filling having just enough length to make me squirm as it glides past my g-spot, and taps on my cervix.

As I did in some of my past reviews, I experimented with Rocket in the various “clock” directions. I found that I really enjoyed using it in the 12 (towards my g-spot) and 6 o’ clock (towards my perineal sponge) positions.

Rocket is made of the glossy silicone so it has no drag. It glides smoothly as it thrusts in and out. Just for comparison, I snapped a photo of Rocket with Meteorite. Though they are similar in color, and they come from the same line of toys, Meteorite is much more of a matte silicone, which I tried to capture.

Other things to note about the Tantus Rocket…

The back of the Tantus RocketIf you’ve read my dildo reviews (and you should be!) you’ll notice that I will mention something about having some sort of sign, or emblem, or stamp etched into the material that is useful for orienting the toy. I think some sort of tactile notation is extremely helpful because when things are covered in lube, sliding hither and tither, you want to make sure the toy is pointing in the direction you want it to go. Rocket does, indeed, have a Tantus stamp on its base (it’s the newer logo), but, weirdly, it’s on the bottom side. It’s not horrible, but it’s slightly annoying, and not as convenient as I would prefer.

Also, it is my understanding that the colors, while similar in each of the Space Toys, they may not look exactly the same as mine. Each Rocket is a snowflake in that respect.

Specs and Caring for Rocket

Tantus Rocket Sparkly Base

See how sparkly the base is!

The Tantus Rocket is 5 inches in circumference at the widest part (4.25″ in the shaft), just under 6 inches in total length, and about 5 and 3/4 inches insertable. As with many solid silicone toys, clean up was super simple. I just used soap and warm water, but it is boilable, dishwasher-safe, and can be cleaned with a 10% bleach solution if you want to go the extra mile. Toy cleaner is also a good option. The flared base makes it safe for anal penetration. And Rocket is harness compatible.

I stuck with water based lube while using Rocket. If you’re going to try out silicone lube, use a bit on the base, and if it doesn’t warp or do anything weird you’re good to go.

One more comparative note…

Tantus Slow Drive-Sport-Rocket Comparison

It can be challenging to figure out where a toy stands in comparison to others, so I took this comparative shot and put Rocket next to Sport and Slow Drive to just help give an idea of where it stands. You can check out the image on my Review Index page which has more Tantus dildos side-by-side.

Final Thoughts

Rocket is a great toy. If you’re not a huge fan of realistic colors; if you’re bored with standard purple, pink, and blue (though it obviously does have some pink); if you are looking for a toy with decent girth and length that is smooth with just a flared head, Rocket may be the toy for you!

Thank you to Tantus for sending me Rocket to try out!
